About Us
We are a place of new beginnings! Providence Home is located on North main street, one mile from the heart of downtown Columbia, South Carolina, and is a Christ-Centered transitional ministry for men. Men at Providence Home are seeking stability in their lives during recovery from substance abuse, re-integration from prison, or other unstable circumstances. As a temporary home, we are a good fit for someone who desires to take advantage of support and accountability while working hard. Accepting residency at Providence Home means a commitment to practice responsible choices that will successfully position one’s self for independent living.
It is expected of each resident to:
- Attend chapel services
- Contribute $100 weekly to cover a portion of their bed, 3 meals a day, and laundry
- Be on campus by 10:00 pm and lights out at 11:00 pm
- Refrain completely from alcohol and illicit drugs
- Do daily assigned chores to keep our campus clean
We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary solution to heal pains that are a result of sinful separation from God and transform one’s life. Having opened the new 27-bed Southeastern Freight Lines Dormitory in August 2020, we currently house 45 men – and will soon have room to house 60 men with the renovation of our Zenoni Dormitory! Men interested in residency are encouraged to call and inquire. Phone and in-person interviews are scheduled Monday-Friday, according to available beds or anticipated Department of Corrections release dates.
