Become a Mentor
One of the most rewarding ways to get involved in the mission of Providence Home is by becoming a mentor. We are always in search of strong men in the faith who can stand beside Providence Home residents and guide them as they pursue life transformation. Through discipleship and mentoring, you can help our men have a chance to reclaim their lives and move forward.
Providence Home is building a network of men who are willing to build a trusting relationship with one or more of our residents in order to increase the likelihood they will stay committed to gaining stability and fulfilling their personal potential in Jesus Christ.
Our mentors come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, no matter your skillset or availability, you can help our Providence Home men grow. From leading small groups, providing financial coaching, teaching life skills, counseling, or just being a friend, we are always looking for men of God who will sacrificially give of themselves to help our Providence Home men recover.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- To meet on a consistent basis, at least 2x/month
- To walk with a brother as a Godly witness
- To demonstrate Godly living through words and actions
- To support a brother’s walk through Biblical word and prayer
- To challenge life choices, actions and words that contradict Christ’s will and teachings and which will lead to self-destruction
- Encourage and guide men in the attainment of short-term and long-term goals
- To develop a personal relationship with much listening and provide counsel and guidance
- Encourage and support a man’s Christian walk
- Identify opportunities for mentor and resident to volunteer and serve others together
